EXTRA coiffure

Dominique trained as a hairdresser in Switzerland and then went on to London to continue further training with Vidal Sassoon. He went from stylist to Senior Stylist and then Artistic Director during the 8 years he spent working with Sassoon’s in London and Munich.

With the Sassoon technique, Dominique developed the art of « precision cutting » and has added to this the art of listening and dialogue. Each person has different needs and therefore he gives great importance to dialogue in order to determine and understand your wishes. He considers the shape of your face, your features and the quality of your haïr to create the hairstyle that you can easily recreate day after day.

I grew up in Paddington, in the center of London and lived there for 27 years. I guess that makes me a true Londoner ! However, having said that, my parents were in fact french and therefore I am totally bilingual !

When I discovered the world of hairdressing, my interest quickly turned to the art of colouring. I say « Art » because compared to hairstyling, one could think that colouriing hair is purely technical but in actual fact, developing a true sense of colours is essential. It has given me the freedom to develop my creativity and the ability to visualise colours that will really suit a person.

Though I`m a colourist, this has not stoped me from having a passion for white hair ! I firmly believe that there comes a time when the world of colouring can no longer match a person’s sking tone. If a person feels ready then the idéal time to stop colouring is when the roots are about 90% white. The successful expériences with many clients have enhanced my conviction that white haïr can actually make women look younger and very chic !

Cecilia is a young and very experienced hairdresser. She successfully finished her 3 years training with Dominique as her teacher. Following this training, she went on to work in other salons for several years. During this time, she further developed her skills in haircutting, colouring, perming and communications. Since 2008, Cecilia is part of our team again.

Cecilia gives great importance to listening and understanding the special needs of her clients. Very discreet, she is sensitive and caring towards those around her.

Her flare for fashionable styles and her ability to adapt to each client are all qualities that she posesses.

Martial Caverzasio joined the EXTRA Coiffure team in March 2019. He was born in the Jura and trained as a Stylist for men and women, in Delémont. He worked in Porrentruy, Basel, and then moved to Paris and Geneva to work in the Haute Coiffure Française for Maurice Franck. It was during this time that he worked in fashion shows for Nina Ricci, Scherrer, Dior, etc.

That’s how he perfected himself in french, evening and wedding hairstyling,. He was also Ambassador for l’Oréal and participated in many of their shows as a hairdresser.

Martial possesses two Federal Masters for Women and Men, and in addition he is a cantonal and federal expert for Coiffure Suisse. For the last 15 years, he has acted as chief expert for the canton of Geneva.

Always eager to share his knowledge with the younger generation, he coaches the candidates of the Hotel School of Geneva.
